Here it goes

Today it begins. I have made some changes in my diet but it has not been consistent enough to see any changes. I have also fell off going to the gym as often as I would like.

School is out for the summer and I am not really working at the moment so I have NO excuses. I have also decided to give up beer on this adventure.

Today I woke up a little later than planned but I’m pumped for the day. I’m going to make some breakfast and then it’s off to the gym!

Gym time

I haven’t had time to post because I have been so busy with school but I have a second to breath.

I  joined the gym last week with my friend Kelly and I am so pumped! So pumped that I am not going to write this blog. I am going over there right now and I will be back to tell you all about it.

Support

I started my blog about an hour ago and I already have three people following me. They are not just ordinary followers either. These chicks are super inspirational. For example, Boosh was so excited to lead the splat part of splats and laps at practice tonight. Unfortunately, I have been sick for the last couple days and it hurt me bad at practice but I did envy her enthusiasm.

I got to thinking on my ride home; What can I do to improve the way I feel.

Why am I sick and lethargic?

  • I burn out often
  • I stress too often which leads to overeating or bad food decisions or drinking.
  • I procrastinate. I wait till the last minute to do a lot of things and I never give myself time to eat a healthy meal or exercise (outside of derby). I slack with chores around the house and most importantly I have bad time management with school. This leads to more STRESS.

Don’t get me wrong. I get shit done. I am just overwhelmed  which leads to bad decisions with food and my number one problem; EXCUSES!

I am setting some simple goals to start.

  1. Yoga EVERY morning. I will start my day on a peaceful path and I won’t be tempted to sleep in for that extra 1/2 hour (Which does nothing. If anything, it makes me more tired.
  2. Sleep 8 hours. I need to avoid sleeping 12 hours one day and only 4 the next. This is where excuses come in to play the most. I say, “It’s my day off” or “I have a big day tomorrow and I need to catch up on sleep.”
  3. Join the gym. I was a member at Fitness works, which is two blocks away from me, for 3 years. I paid $40 a month and I never went. I told myself I couldn’t afford it or some lame excuse. I am cutting a day out of going out and putting that money to my months gym payment instead. That is a win-win, I think!
